Case 1. CSVP 2024-3230 (NTU2023-0807, NTU GIMCP, H.H. Yeh, D. Nammuang, and W.H. Huang)
Common musk turtle (Sternotherus odoratus), male, 18-year-old. The patient that had normal activity but smaller size compared to others was found upside down and dead in the bottom of the pound. Gross examination revealed diffuse edema all over the patient’s body and limbs. Two large yellow masses were found on the left side of the body cavity (size 3x3x3 cm and 5x5x5 cm). Cross-sectioning revealed yellow contents inside the two masses.
Morphologic diagnosis :
Cyst: Epidermoid cyst, with inflammation, two masses in body cavity
Lung: Congestion, diffuse, moderate, acute
Liver: Hyperplasia, melanophagic center, diffuse, mild, chronic
Trachea: Lymphocytosis
Lab. examination:
1. MT (+)

Red-feathered country chicken, 3~4-day-old, showed signs of prostration, lameness and neurological symptom. The prevalence was 0.7 %.
Morphologic diagnosis :
Brain: Encephalitis, lymphohistiocytic, and central chromatolysis, multifocal, chronic, severe
Lab. examination:
RT-PCR: AEV positive

Case 3. CSVP 2024-3222 (AP2023-0925, AU PBVM, P.R. Lai, Y.L. Huang and C.H. Yang)
Rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus, one-year-old, spayed female. The rabbit showed sudden death after feeding with clinical signs of wheezing and acute respiratory distress.
Morphologic diagnosis :
Lung: Bronchopneumonia, granulomatous, multifocal, mild, chronic-active, with plant foreign bodies.
Lab. examination: Not done
Dx: Recurrent Regurgitation Induced Chocking To Death

Pig, 8-week-old. The incidence rate is 70%, and the mortality rate is 20%. Clinical symptoms include fever, depression, wheezing and coughing.
Morphologic diagnosis :
Lung: Bronchopneumonia, necrotizing, lymphoplasmacytic, proliferative, interstitial diffuse, moderate to severe, chronic active, with type II pneumocytic hyperplasia
Liver: Glycogen accumulation, multifocal, mild, acute
Lab. examination:
Serum: PRRSV-strain NADC30/34-like (+)
Dx: Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome in nursery pigs

Case 5. CSVP 2024-3234 (2023-305-12, VRI, YC Tu, SC Hu, and YW Chen)
Formosan pangolin, Manis pentadactyla pentadactyla, adult, male, was rescued due to trap injury. The health status was getting worse, and cannot survive after half year retention
Morphologic diagnosis :
Lung: Cystic formation, locally-extensive, severe, with interstitial pneumonia, moderate, diffuse.
Lab. examination:
MT: Lung (+)
Dx: Diffuse cystic lung disease and Undetermined interstitial pneumonia

Case 6. CSVP 2024-3235 (CP23-12002, ADDC NCHU, S.L. Jan, C.P. Huang, and S.C. Ou)
Native chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus), 8 week-old, showed signs of lameness, weakness, and growth retardation. The morbidity was 2% (160/8000), and mortality was 1.5% (120/8000), respectively.
Morphologic diagnosis :
Tarsal joint: Tenosynovitis, pyogranulomatous, diffuse, chronic-active, severe, with vasculitis
Trachea: Tracheitis, lymphoplasmacytic, diffuse, moderate, with deciliation
Bursa: atrophy, diffuse, subacute to chronic, severe, with lymphoid depletion, bursa of Fabricius
Cecum: hematoma, focal, chronic, severe, with vasculitis and intra-lesional bacterial colonies
Spleen: hematoma, focal, chronic, severe, with vasculitis and intra-lesional bacterial colonies
Lab. examination:
Bact.: Hock and wing joints = Mycoplasma sp (+); Liver and liver capsule = Escherichia coli (+)
PCR:IBD, MS (+)
Dx: Coinfection of Mycoplsma synoviae and Infectious Bursal Disease Virus in Native Chickens
