Case 1. CSVP 2018-3007 (107030-C, NTUCM LAC, Y.T. Tsai, W.P. Chen, H.W. Chen)
Mouse, SOD1 transgenic, 5-month-old, male. The mouse presented gait impairment and reduced motor function
Morphological diagnosis:
1. Spinal cord: Vacuolation and gliosis, slight, multifocal, with axonal degeneration and Lewy-body-like hyaline inclusions, spinal cord
2. Brainstem: Vacuolation and gliosis, slight, multifocal, with Lewy-body-like hyaline inclusions, brainstem

Case 2. CSVP 2018-3008 (CD18022, ADDC NCYU, H. S. Lin, H.C. Kuo, C.L. Chen, Y.C. Su, M.H. Chang, D.Y. Lo)
Chicken, Hy-Line layers, 22-week-old, unable to stand and decreased egg production since February, 2018. Morbidity was 40% (1,400/3,500) and cumulative mortality was 7% (250/3,500).
Morphological diagnosis:
1. Pleomorphic lymphoid cells (lymphoblasts, small and medium lymphocytes) in multiple organs
2. IHC: CD3 (+) in the membrane of T-cell
3. PCR: Marek’s disease virus (MDV) Gallid herpesvirus 2 (wild strain) (+)Detection ≠ Diagnosis

Case 3. CSVP 2018-3009 (2018-2122, NTU GIMCP, T.W. Lee, C.R. Jeng)
Feline, DSH, 8-year-old, spayed female. A mass about 0.2*0.2*0.2 cm on left neck was noted two months ago. Mass became bigger recently, about 0.2*0.3*0.3 cm
Morphological diagnosis:
1. Branchial cyst (pharyngeal cyst), surgical excision, mass from left ventral neck

Case 4. CSVP 2018-3010 (2018-1728A, NTU GIMCP, C.H. Shih, V.F. Pang)
African grey parrot, 1-year-old, male, became shock in recovery period after under anesthesia in experiments. Intraosseous infusion was performed during the experiment.
Morphological diagnosis:
1. Fat embolism, multifocal, with hemorrhage and perivascular edema, lung

Case 5. CSVP 2018-3011 (CP18-0801, GIVP, NCHU, J.H. Liu, Y.C. Tuan, Y.X. Lin, J.W. Liao, J.H. Shien, H.Y. Chiou)
Native chicks, 3-day-old, were suddenly dead without clinical sign observed. The total mortality was approximately 12.5% (2,000/16,000). Electrolyte and vitamin in drinking water were given for the supplemental treatment.
Morphological diagnosis:
Heterophil
1. Urate crystal deposition with tubular necrosis and heterophilic infiltration, multifocal, mild, chronic
2. PCR: Astrovirus in the kidneys, lungs, heart and liver (+)

Case 6. CSVP 2018-3012(CP18-0805A, GIVP NCHU, C.L Ho, Y.C Wu, H.Y. Chiou, J.W. Liao)
Ducklings, 2-week-old, showed clinical symptoms of hindquarters weakness. The morbidity rate was 100%, and the mortality rate was 90%.
Morphological diagnosis:
1. Polyseroseitis, severe, chronic-progressive, multifocal to diffuse, air sac, pericardium and peritoneum.
2. Meningoencephalitis, severe, subacute, multifocal, brain.
3. Lymphoid depletion and chronic bursitis, severe, chronic, multifocal to diffuse, bursa.
4. Epithelial atrophy, moderate, chronic, multifocal, trachea.
Etiological Dx.
1. Infectious serositis induced by Riemerella anatipestifer infection
2. Circovirus infection
3. Unexplained encephalitis
