Feline, mongrel, adult, was hit by staff when breaking into someone’s house. The injured cat was died after one night infusion therapy.
A. Lung: pulmonary edema, diffuse, severe, acute, with locally extensive hemorrhage area.
B. Brain: cerebral cortex hemorrhage, locally extensive, severe, acute, with blood vessels edema and Wallerian degeneration of nerve fiber.
Final Dx. Intracranial hemorrhage and shock due to man killing
Case 2. CSVP 2015-2870 (104055-D, NTUCM LAC, Y.T. Tsai, W.P. Chen, H.W. Chen)
Mouse, ICR, 4-month-old, female. The mouse presented a protruding forehead with sensitivity to tactile stimulation.
Contributor’s diagnosis:
Precursor B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, TaT (+), CD79a (+), CD3 (-), MPO (-) and CD68 (-), bone marrow of skull and vertebrae, meninges, spinal nerve, spleen, lymph nodes, liver, lung and kidney
Neuronal necrosis and vacuolation of neuropil, slight, multifocal, cerebral cortex, brain
Case 3. CSVP 2015-2871 (2014-640, NTU, Y.C. Chang, C.R. Jeng)
Canine, poodle, 2-year-old, female spayed. The patient was diagnosed with suspected immune mediated thrombocytopenia and treated for 6 months. Fever and anorexia with splenomegaly clinically were noted recently.
Presenter’s diagnosis:
Immune mediated response with prominent extramedullary hematopoiesis and severe lymphoid depletion, spleen
Case 4. CSVP 2015-2872 (2015-1417, NTU, S.H. Kuo, H.W. Chang)
Canine, mongrel, 12-year-old, female. A small subcutaneous mass in the inguinal region was noted one year ago, and gradually enlarged to 20x15x3 cm in size, which showed a flattened, ulcerated and necrotic skin surface with Serosanguinous discharge. Mass biopsy was performed on June 3rd, 2015.
Contributor’s diagnosis:
Pleomorphic liposarcoma, with marked stromal invasion, central necrosis, and lymphatic invasion, incisional biopsy, inguinal mass
Case 5. CSVP 2015-2873 (CH15015, ADDC NCYU, C. H. Lin, H.C. Kuo, C.L. Chen, D.Y. Lo)
Pig. Four aborted fetuses from 2 sows in mid to late-term trimester were submitted for diagnosis.
Morphologic diagnosis:
Hemorrhagic, histiocytic, necrotized pneumonia, moderate, acute, multifocal, with eosinophilic intranuclear inclusion body
Hemorrhagic, purulent, necrotized, hepatitis, moderate, acute, multifocal, with eosinophilic intranuclear inclusion body
Final Dx. pseuodrabies in pig aborted fetuses.
Case 6. CSVP 2015-2874 (CO15-824, GIVP-NCHU, F.Y. Tsai, H.M. Chang, J. P. Kao, J. W. Liao)
Hedgehog, female, unknown age, a subcutaneous mass on the right neck and an intra-abdominal mass were noticed in clinic. Masses were removed by Surgery. The subcutaneous mass was soft in palpation and measured 1.5 x 1 x 1 cm in size. The abdominal mass was located in the right uterine horn with firmness and measured 2.5 x 2 x 2 cm in size, respectively.
Morphologic diagnosis:
Liposarcoma, subcutaneous of neck
Endometrial stromal sarcoma, right uterine horn Cystic endometrial hyperplasia with dilatation of endometrial glands, focal, left uterine horn
